Peru, land of the mighty Inca Empire that stretched from Northern Chile all the way to what is now Southern Columbia, an area of 2,000,000 sq. Km. They ruled for 500 years without a written Language using instead the Quipi, a series of knotted strings that serve as a memory aid for calculation and recording their history and culture. Quipi have been discovered and dated in Peru from 3,000 years BC. They did not have the use of the wheel or Horses (which were unknown to them) relying on manpower alone to complete their Massive Civil Works many of which which survive to this day.
The Inca's were experts in Water management and irrigation having aquaducts that run for hundreds of miles, paved roads across their Empire that ran for thousands of miles, Massive terracng for cultivation of their crops in the steep Andes regions. Their palaces and temples are built of blocks that were so closely fitted together it is impossible to slip a piece of paper between the huge blocks, Their Art and Culture was very advanced as you will see when you visit the Museums in Lima & Cuzco.
