Lima, Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Rio and the Foz de Iguazu

Day 1 - Arrival to Lima airport where we will meet you.  Transfer to your chosen Hotel,  for the Classic Tour you will be staying at the unique Hotel / Art Gallery Second Home Peru.  For Luxury Travellers it will be the 5* Miraflores Park Hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day as free time.

Day 2 - Collection from your Hotel for full day Tour of Colonial and Modern Lima, visiting Lima Cathedral, the Church and Convent of San Francisco and a Museum of your choice.  Lunch is included at one of the finest restaurants in Lima, the Rosa Nautica.

Day 3 - In the morning, transfer to Lima airport for your flights to Cuzco.  Arrive to Cuzco where we will meet you and transfer you to you chosen Hotel.

For the Classic Tour your will be staying in the beautiful 3* Superior Boutique Hotel Casa San Blas just two blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Cuzco.  For Luxury travellers it will be the 5* Monasterio Hotel, voted the best Hotel in the whole Continent of South America by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine in 2006. Need we say more?

In the afternoon you will enjoy a City Tour of Cuzco visiting the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, Cuzco Cathedral and the most important temple of the Inca Empire - Coricancha the Inca Temple of the Sun.

Day 4 - Collection from your Hotel for a full day Tour of the Sacred Valley, visiting the Inca ruins of Pisac and Ollayantambo also the Market at Pisac, a great place to buy souvenirs.

Day 5 - An early start to catch your chosen train to Machu Picchu either the Vistadome or Luxury Hiram Bingham services.

Reception and transfer to Machu Picchu where you will enjoy a Private Tour with a qualified English speaking guide. Enjoy the rest of the day as free time to enjoy the Sanctuary.  In the late afternoon transfer to your chosen Hotel in Aquas Calientes, the town that nestles in the valley below Machu Picchu.

For your night in Aquas Calientes for classic travellers you will be staying at the Hotel Machu Picchu Inn and for Luxury Travellers your you have the choice of Machu Picchu Peublo Hotel or the Sanctuary Lodge.  Of these two, the Pueblo Hotel was voted last year as one of the top 500 Hotels in the World and the best value Hotel in South America.  It also has the largest Orchid collection open to the Public the World. 

Day 6 - A day to revisit Machu Picchu and enjoy this fabulous site at leisure.  Perhaps climb Huayna Picchu the peak that overlooks Machu Picchu and affords fantastic views and photo opportunities.  In the late afternoon  transfer to the train station for your trip back to Cuzco.  Leave the Train at the last station before Cuzco, Poroy, for a more swift and convenient transfer by road back to your Hotel

Day 7 - Today we fly to Lima to catch an onward connecting flight to the Foz de Iguazu the widest waterfalls in the world and truly awesome.  What makes these falls different is how close you can come to them on the walkways and that you will be taking a speedboat directly into the Falls.

For Classic travellers we recommend the Internacional Hotel and for Luxury travellers definitely the Tropical Cataratas Hotel, the only Hotel within the national Park and it has views of the Falls.

Day 8 - A tour of the Argentian side of the Falls.

Day 9 - A Tour of the Brazilian side of the Falls including a boat ride into the Falls.

Day 10 - Your flight to Rio de Janeiro and transfer to your Hotel, for classic travellers we recommned the Copacabana Rio Hotel just one block from the beach and for Luxury travellers definitely the Copacabana Palace recently voted the best Hotel in Latin America and 15th best Hotel in the World

In the Afternoon a half day tour to the White Christ and the Mountain of Corcovado on which it stands.

Day 11 - A day to Tour the rest of Rio's landmarks including Sugar Loaf Mountain which you will ascend by a two stage cable car.

Day 12 - A free day to enjoy Rio and perhaps relax on Copacabana Beach before a transfer to the airport for you flights home.

This Tour can be extended in a variety of ways perhaps just a few additional days to enjoy Rio at your leisure or an all inclusive tour of the Pantanal, the largest wetlands in the world.  Also please do ask about our special Carnival Tours in Rio.  These however do need to be booked well in advance.
